Resources and ideas for activities to those provided for pre-visit activities can be provided for children to use on their return to school to ensure that the visit is embedded in the curriculum.
Ideally resources will be available online and could include:
- images and illustrations
- downloadable ideas for cross-curricular linked activities such as those provided by Manchester Museum (see Websites below)
- ideas and activities for teachers and pupils signposting to other resources and websites
- the opportunity for children to email the museum with questions and/or feedback
- loan materials
- opportunities for individual research by children (see Websites below) or group work using the whiteboard online resources such as those provided by the Mary Rose museum (see Pre-visit activities)
If online resources are not feasible for your museum providing a CD Rom of printable information and ideas is a more cost-effective alternative to printed material.
